Aaron Patrick, wardrobe designer behind Aaron Patrick Custom Clothier, lent his talent and panache to J + B Clothing in a showcase of his spring and summer collection at Strut 08 at prestigious North Hills on May 3, 2008. Noted as a talented and demanded designer, people talk about Aaron with venerable reverence. "You can tell that men feel good about themselves in his suits," said Sara Beard, stylist at Samuel Cole Salon, backstage at the show. "He embodies the feel of a strong American male and isn't afraid to throw in some pink!"
When asked about his designs chosen for Strut's runway, he is quick to explain his vision. "These suits are classic, with flair." Timeless cuts and colors are usually avoided on runways, but Aaron continues to make an immediate connection with buyers by utilizing them.
"A Raleigh gentleman is looking for a traditional look and great fit," he says, "[but is also] looking for versatility in his suits and sport coats." This versatility can be found in Aaron's use of modern color combinations, the thin lines created by close cuts and of thinner wools more appropriate for warm weather. Over the next ten years, he predicts that suiting will greatly remain the same in form and function but with adjustments mimicking facets of the environment such as current industries and values.
Aaron's personal style politely and calmly states to the world that he is the shit, offering no apologies. Look for the best dressed in a room and chances are, he's Aaron Patrick. Or at least dressed by him. See his designs soon at NV Clothes for Men, North Hills. Contact Aaron Patrick Custom Clothier at aarongoode1@yahoo.com. - Rachel Kincaid
